The Brief
The Brief
Set within a new multi-residential complex, this existing courtyard was flat, exposed, and lacked personality. The mandate was to soften its clinical edge, screening out surrounding buildings while transforming the restrictive footprint into a high-spec, private outdoor room.

The Philosophy
The Philosophy
The design relies on varied heights to break up the flat lines of the site. A Japanese-inspired palette champions restraint and artistic asymmetry over overcrowding. The botanical scheme utilises foliage to soften the industrial brickwork, balanced by sculptural form and the subtle presence of water to establish visual depth within a compact space.

An exercise in injecting organic soul into a rigid, multi-residential box. By trading generic apartment finishes for natural materials and a highly refined botanical scheme, a cold courtyard is elevated into a quiet, deeply private retreat.
